Clinical psychologist Cate Wikner offers effective evidence-based psychological interventions and uses evidence-based therapies matched to individual needs. Evidence-based therapy are methods that have been scientifically studied and found to be effective.

Cate uses a range of treatments, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She is also very comfortable with a psychotherapeutic approach which focuses on feelings and emotions.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is another line of evidence-based treatment that Cate uses to help rapidly process traumatic memories.
Cate is also skilled in teaching parenting skills, communication skills and building self-esteem in clients.
On intake, you will be listened to respectfully, and a careful assessment will be made of your difficulties to help accurately identify the problem, its causes and maintaining factors. This may include the use of a range of paper assessments or the gathering of clinical information from you.
Treatment can then proceed in a collaborative way, with your full consent and active participation. Therapy includes a substantial educational component, so that you will develop the skills to manage your condition and help you to prevent relapse in the future.
