Psychologist Emily Church provides therapy sessions for child and adolescent clients (ages 5 to 17:11 years) who may be experiencing emotional and behavioural issues. Psychological treatment is very effective in children and early intervention is always preferable.

Emily is available for child and adolescent therapy from 14th January 2019. Cate Wikner Clinical psychologist will be providing this service for the remainder of  2018.

If your child is under 15 years we request that for your first appointment you come in without your child. This way you can speak openly to discuss the difficulties being experienced without your child hearing negative comments.

If your child is 15 years or above they are welcome to accompany you to the first session.

It is helpful if you bring your child’s most recent school report, medical reports or any previous assessments.

Please note that if your child is eligible for a rebate under Medicare’s Better Access initiative, the rebate can only be claimed if the child is in attendance.

Available interventions include:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression
  • Relaxation and mindfulness strategies
  • Skills training for anger, communication and social skills
  • Behavioural management strategies for parents.
